RenderMan for Maya Pro™
RenderMan for Maya Pro™ is the premium version of RenderMan for Maya. RenderMan for Maya Pro provides the same seamless interface between Maya® and Pixar’s RenderMan that RenderMan for Maya provides. However, RenderMan for Maya Pro has additional power user features for sophisticated render pipelines. RenderMan for Maya Pro is the backbone of RenderMan Studio, providing a clean interface with uncompromised extensibility.
Slim™
Slim is a powerful shader management tool developed to meet the demands of sophisticated productions. Through scripting, Slim’s support for Maya® attributes, and its general extensibility, Slim provides automated and customized solutions for shading workflow. Slim also functions as a shader generator, allowing RenderMan shaders to be generated interactively, without programming. With Slim it is possible to generate a wide range of the highest quality procedural shaders. Slim, as a combined shader generation and management system, plays a key role in RenderMan Studio™.
Tractor™
Tractor is the ideal foreman for modern renderfarms. Tractor is a task based processing system specifically designed to manage distributed rendering. RenderMan Studio provides direct support for Tractor, allowing you to easily submit and monitor render jobs. "it"™
The name "it" is really just a clever abbreviation for "Image Tool." With the latest release of RenderMan Studio, Pixar's imaging tool, "it", has received a complete overhaul, from the ground up. "it" is a robust framebuffer, offering complete floating point support for HDRI and intuitive tools to help organize and preview images. Images can be rendered directly to "it", or loaded into interactive catalogs, which comes in handy when comparing render iterations or for art reviews. You also can load and display image sequences as flipbooks to preview animations.
